Baofeng Calls In Helicopter Medevac! (Video)
So this is a very interesting story that was suggest by Steve (K7FOG). It seems that a situation arose where the on scene commander did not have access to the correct radio/frequency to allow a medical evacuation helicopter to land. This video is fairly short and is very interesting. Check it out here:
Some note about this video.
NIFOG – National Interoperability Field Operations Guide. Download yours here! (The cool frequencies start at page 24, BUT READ THE PRECEDING pages first.)
P.A.C.E. Plans – In Incident Management Communications, this represents having Primary, Alternate, Contingency, and Emergency plans/frequencies already worked out and programmed in your radios.
Obviously, this did not have to be a Baofeng radio, it could have been almost any VHF HT. But it does make a point!
Thanks for the suggestion Steve.
